Tomorrow is Moving Day!

Well the time has finally arrived, tomorrow morning we uproot our lives and plonk it back down into a new home. Tonight we are going to be shifting as much furniture as possible down stairs to keep the actual removalist time down to a minimum, and then we have a joyous weekend ahead of unpacking and cleaning the old house (the sale is due to go through next Wednesday, so it needs to be cleaned ASAP).

But let us talk of happier things! I am on the verge of purchasing my new computer. I actually made an attempt on it last month but thanks to stock shortages, faulty components and then eventually an impending CPU price drop I've been stalled until next week. Now that the new Conroe chips are being released, I am also beginning to re-evaluate my actual choices. This is the system I currently have an eye on:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4ghz)
Intel P965 Chipset 1066FSB Motherboard
1Gig XFX Geforce 7950GX2 Graphics Card (*drool*)
320Gig 7200rpm 16mb Hard Disk
20" BenQ FP202W Widescreen LCD flat panel monitor

All up it is going to be a little over $3500, and will be future proof for some time to come :) Of course most people (*cough*suzy*cough*) think I'm mad for spending that kind of money on a computer, but I just love my PC games and I'm happy to spend that kind of cash on hardware that is going to last me three or four years.

First things first... I'm loading up Half Life 2 and playing it straight through (I have been saving it for when I upgraded, it has been a long hard wait but I'm almost there!!)
